Why Rodent Work Here Is Not the Same as the Rest of Florida
Hurricane Ian made landfall as a Category 4 in September 2022 and became the costliest hurricane in Florida history and the deadliest to strike the state since 1935. Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel and Captiva took the worst of it. Four years on, the rodent consequence is structural rather than dramatic: an enormous volume of rebuilt and repaired rooflines, and every new tile run, replaced soffit and fresh mechanical penetration is an opening that did not exist before the rebuild. We find more post reconstruction entry points here than anywhere else in the state.
Barrier island properties on Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach and Marco Island carry very high property values with small populations, which makes full attic restoration the normal job rather than the exception. Lehigh Acres and North Fort Myers bring older, lower cost stock where exclusion economics matter more.
