What Makes This Region Different
Why Rodent Work Here Is Not the Same as the Rest of Florida
Cocoa, Rockledge and Titusville built out fast during the 1960s Apollo era, which means a very large number of homes in this region share the same age, the same slab construction and the same soffit and fascia detail. That uniformity is useful: we know what a 1965 Rockledge eave looks like before we put a ladder against it. Sixty years is also long enough for every one of those eaves to have separated at least once. Hurricane Nicole came ashore just south of Vero Beach in November 2022, only the third November hurricane on record to make landfall in Florida, and this coast felt it.
Lagoon side vegetation corridors run continuously behind many properties here and function as harborage and as travel routes between houses. Treating one property without addressing the corridor is why some Space Coast infestations recur.
