Palm Coast was built out by ITT through the 1970s and 1980s. Deltona is a Mackle Brothers development from the 1960s and 1970s. Both produced thousands of homes to a small number of repeating plans. When the housing stock is uniform, the entry points are uniform, and a technician who has sealed twenty Palm Coast homes knows where the twenty first one is open before the inspection starts. Daytona Beach is the opposite: older beachside stock, mixed ages, salt air corrosion on vents and screening, and a completely different failure profile.
Coastal properties in Daytona Beach Shores, Flagler Beach and New Smyrna Beach need galvanised mesh sealed at cut edges, because salt air attacks exposed cut galvanising faster than most installers expect.
