Rodent Control Treasure Coast

This is Indian River citrus country, and it is the single most seasonal rodent market in Florida.

What Makes This Region Different

Why Rodent Work Here Is Not the Same as the Rest of Florida

Roof rats are called citrus rats and fruit rats for a reason, and this is the region that shows you why. As fruit ripens from September onward, colonies that spent spring and summer living in groves and in residential citrus shift toward structures. The diagnostic sign is unmistakable once you know it: fruit hollowed out while still hanging on the branch. If you have citrus in the yard here and you are seeing that, the cycle has already started and the attic is next. Hurricane Nicole made landfall just south of Vero Beach in November 2022.

Seasonal and second home ownership is heavy along this coast, which produces a specific November problem: owners open a house that has been closed since April and find months of undetected activity. Pre arrival inspections are worth more here than almost anywhere.
