About Us | Operating Since 2005

The Florida Rodent Control

We are a referral service, not a pest control company. That distinction shapes everything on this website, including the parts that tell you not to spend money.

What We Are

A Referral Service, and Why We Say So Plainly

We are a lead referral and information service. We are not a licensed pest control business and we do not carry out rodent control, exclusion or attic restoration work ourselves. Every job is performed by an independent company operating under its own licence issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services under Chapter 482, Florida Statutes.

A lot of sites in this space blur that line. We state it on every page because you should know exactly who is turning up at your house and under whose licence they are working. Your assigned operator is responsible for providing their FDACS licence number and current insurance certificates on your written estimate, and we encourage you to verify that number yourself through the FDACS licensee search at fdacs.gov before any work begins.

How We Are Paid

The Part Most Referral Sites Do Not Explain

We are paid by the operators we refer work to. That is the entire model and it is worth understanding, because it explains both what we do and what we deliberately do not do.

  • We do not mark up your quote. The price you are given is the operator’s price.
  • We do not take a percentage of the job. A bigger invoice does not pay us more, which is why nothing on this site pushes you toward the expensive option.
  • The inspection is free and carries no obligation. You keep the photographs and the written quote whether or not you proceed, including if you use them to get a comparison quote elsewhere.

What We Believe

The Positions This Site Takes

Most rodent control marketing says roughly the same things. This site takes specific positions that sometimes reduce what you would otherwise spend, and they are worth stating in one place.

  1. Exclusion ends it, spraying does not. Roof rats do not leave because a property was sprayed. They leave when the physical opening is sealed in metal.
  2. Poison is not the default. A poisoned rat dies inside your wall rather than outside, and rodenticide creates secondary poisoning risk for Florida owls, hawks and other raptors, as well as for pets.
  3. Your insulation may not need replacing. It is the largest line on a typical rodent invoice and it is frequently sold before anyone knows whether it is necessary. We tell you when it is not.
  4. Some problems can wait. Our emergency page tells you which situations are genuinely urgent and which are not, because charging an urgency premium for a problem that can wait until Friday is not something we want to be part of.
  5. Conditions differ across Florida. That is why there are 178 separate community pages rather than one page with the city name swapped in.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Who runs The Florida Rodent Control?

John Kevin. The business has been operating since 2005 and the website is the current front door to it. When you call (380) 227-2240 or email thefloridarodentcontrol@gmail.com, you are reaching the business directly rather than a call centre.

Are you a pest control company?

No, and this matters. We are a lead referral and information service. We are not a licensed pest control business and we do not perform rodent control, exclusion or attic restoration work ourselves. All work is carried out by independent companies operating under their own licence issued by FDACS under Chapter 482, Florida Statutes.

How do you make money if the inspection is free?

We are paid by the operators we refer work to. That is the model, and it is worth knowing because it explains both what we do and do not do. We do not mark up your quote and we do not take a cut of the job.

How do I verify the operator you send me?

Ask for their FDACS licence number, which they are responsible for providing on your written estimate, and verify it through the FDACS licensee search at fdacs.gov before work begins. We encourage you to do this rather than take our word for it.

What if I am unhappy with the operator you refer?

Tell us. Email thefloridarodentcontrol@gmail.com or call (380) 227-2240. The referral relationship only works if the operators we send people to do good work, so feedback about a bad experience is genuinely useful to us.

Do you cover the whole of Florida?

We cover 178 communities across nine regions spanning the peninsula from Nassau County down to Collier. We do not currently cover the Panhandle or the Keys. If your ZIP is not listed, call and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
