Why Rodent Work Here Is Not the Same as the Rest of Florida
Northeast Florida has a genuine cool season. It produces a real temperature driven push indoors from roughly October through February, which simply does not happen in Naples or Boca Raton. If a company gives you the same seasonal guidance in Fernandina Beach that it gives in Fort Myers, it is running a template. Two other things make this region distinctive. St. Augustine, founded in 1565 and the oldest continuously occupied European established city in the continental United States, has historic coquina and masonry structures where standard exclusion materials and fixings are not appropriate. And the St. Johns 32259 and Ponte Vedra 32081 corridor is one of the fastest growing new construction markets in the state, which is why we field so many calls that open with the words but the house is brand new.
New construction is not sealed construction. Unsettled soffit and fascia detail, mechanical penetrations sealed with foam by the trade that made them, temporary openings never properly closed, and freshly cleared land next door displacing whatever lived there. A two year old house in Nocatee can have more entry points than a thirty year old one in Orange Park.
